Signs/results are here.

Today I was warmed up early with Patricia Zerdan (no facial plants this morning). We had an excellent warm -up. I played Pauline Fisher at 10:30 … It was our third meeting this year after previously only played in an IC (International Club) event years ago. I won 61 62, but it was difficult, many long games and tactical changes and reactions to them.

Chris French, my DoubleSpartner This week won the 65 singles about Kim Reed, also from Great -Britain, 62 62. And yes, Chris is really long! Interesting is that we all, Chris, Kim and I play with full -racquets, and Kim and I use the same full 4 vostra. Pauline and Shirley Fox won the 70 Doubles 10-8 in a competition break … Never in doubt?!

Dan Waldman, USA, came to Chris’s Court for the next game … He rode in the final in the 70s 62 62. Then shown below with Carolyn.

After a break of a few hours we played Doubles against Andrea Schmidt and Dr. Ulrike … we won 61 62 but had some great rallies and long competitions. Chris was great … I did hit a winning Lob volley on Match Point. šŸ™‚ We play the #2 seeds, Gundi Weiland/Barbara Novack in the final. Below: Chris, Carolyn, Ulrike and Andrea.

Andrew Stanley (GBR)/Ann Stanley (US) today won the 70 mixed 64 63 over Bruno Renault/Hildegarde Bruggaber. Below, Ann (you can believe she is in the 75s), Chris & Carolyn

Danny Shaw (US)/Keith Porter (Can) won the 70-Doubles of the men in a very tight match, 67 76 12-10 about Jasper Cooper/Boyd Brackstone (GBR).

Everette Darnielle/Max King fell on a number of heavy Spaniards in the M65 Dubbels final. The Spaniards understood really Clay Court doubles … Their lobs were excellent!

Bruce Barrett (US)/Chris Ornstein (GBR) won the 75 men’s subbels.

And a few photos of players for fun. It is really an international tournament … players from all over Europe and a little players from other continents and many British players.
