Makai Lemon | Wide Receiver | University of Southern California

The Lnake Live arrived at USC as a five-star recruit coming out of high school. He was named a first-team junior All-American and first-team all-state by MaxPreps. During his high school years, Lemon was an Under Armor All-American and an invitee to the Polynesian Bowl. Lemon initially committed to the Oklahoma Sooners before referring his commitment to USC to the head coach Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma for USC. Rookie profile | Strengths and weaknesses
One of my favorite players to watch is The Lnake Live. Lemon influences defenses at all three levels and has a knack for getting open by exploiting zone defenses. He possesses strong, reliable hands that allow him to pick up first downs and keep the chains moving. Lemon plays bigger than his 6-foot-4 frame suggests while demonstrating excellent body control. His toughness cannot be overlooked as he is not afraid to work in the middle of the pitch. Lemon’s yards after the catch make him dangerous with the ball in his hands.
As for areas of improvement for Lemon, I’m a little concerned that he may be limited to the NFL spot. At USC, Lemon played more than 70% of his snaps from the slot. He needs to show a better release package. In the limited tape against press coverage, Lemon struggled against physical cornerbacks. He will need to improve his hand fighting on the leash. When I watch Lemon’s tape, I see a lot of similarities between his play and that of a fellow USC wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown. Consider a lower player comp Golden Tate during his tenure with the Detroit Lions.

Makai Lemon | Breakdown of all 22 films
Makai Lemon also shows great playing potential. If you watch the game against Michigan State in the Nerds Film Room, Lemon leaves the safety flat-footed, stuck, and plays catch-up with Lemon at 2:40 as he shoots past him for a 40-yard touchdown pass. Watch his film against Michigan and Notre Dame if you have time. There are currently 5 full games on Lemon in the Nerds Film Room and more will be added before the Combine.
Concept capital | Potential landing sites
Lemon currently sits as my WR3 in this draft class and should be considered a first-round pick in your rookie drafts. Last week on the Dynasty Nerds PodcastGarret Price and Jagger May ran a two-round 1QB mock draft for the class of 2026. Garret selected Lemon with the 1.02 over Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate. In my rookie scouting, I have Lemon’s tape score as a 91, which puts him in the category of potential elite fantasy producers (WR1s). I will give the disclaimer that Lemon, Tate and Tyson all received a 91, which makes landing spots in the upcoming NFL Draft my tiebreaker on where I will select them. As far as Lemon’s potential fit in the NFL, he would be a great fit in New Orleans working with him Chris Olafgive Tyler Shough another offensive weapon. The New York Jets also have two first-round picks, and if they address the quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick, selecting Lemon at pick 16 to combine with Garrett Wilson will automatically upgrade their offense.

A: Makai Lemon The biggest concern in this profile is role limitation, with USC’s heavy slot usage (over 70% of snaps) raising questions about full-court deployment.
