The team said they have integrated AI to improve KYC procedures.
The core team has made several improvements in recent months, the latest of which was announced on Friday.
AI integration
The Pi Network team has been working on AI integrations for a long time, including in the Pi App Studio. Now they have chosen the new technological revolution in the standard KYC system by integrating the same technological infrastructure that powers the Pi Fast Track KYC. The idea is to dramatically speed up identity verification, reduce bottlenecks, and support the next big wave of Mainnet migration.
The statement reads that this enhanced AI system has already shortened the human review queue by approximately 50%, making KYC faster, more scalable and more accessible to the millions of claimed pioneers worldwide.
The extended AI validation layer improves the system in the following ways, the team said:
- Reduces the shortage of validators in regions with a limited number of human raters
- Accelerates Mainnet Unlocking of KYC for More Pioneers
- Reduces the number of requests that need to be reviewed manually
- Further improves privacy by reducing what human validators can see (sensitive data has already been redacted)
The core team added that despite the introduction of AI services, human validators will still be present. The system deliberately uses “very conservative AI checks” to prevent false approvals, so any shady cases are passed on to human reviewers for final analysis. The statement noted that this process should maintain accuracy while reducing the overall labor required.
This saved human labor from KYC will be reallocated to other areas in Pi’s ecosystem, such as human feedback processes for AI training, app tools, and new platform-level capabilities.

KYC statistics
The team said that more than 17.5 million users have fully passed KYC, while 15.7 million have already migrated to the mainnet. About three million provisional KYC pioneers can now unblock themselves by performing additional liveness checks.
They also advised all fully KYC users to complete the mainnet checklist, including wallet confirmation, 2FA installation, and signing the token receipt terms.
“These millions of KYC pioneers on the Pi Mainnet, with many more to join, are a significant achievement of the Pi community’s collective efforts and a tremendous resource of the network that not only helps maintain the security and integrity of our network, but also serves as a foundation to nurture more real utilities in Web3 and AI industries that will shape our future,” the statement said.
