The teams in the Tulp main class men had set their sights on Sunday. No fewer than 35 goals were scored in five games. Both Amsterdam-Laren and Rotterdam-Hurley ended in 9-0, a result that happened only five times before in the Premier League history. Thanks to the big win, Rotterdam took over the leadership from Pinoké, who reached 3-3 against Den Bosch. Hurley fell to last place, while Bloemendaal won 5-4 in the top match against Kampong. The match between Klein Switzerland and Oranje-Rood ended undecided.
Rotterdam-Hurley 9-0
Last season, Rotterdam won both games between them through echoing figures (8-3 and 10-0). Also this time the abacus had to be caught. Pepijn van der Heijden set the tone with two goals in the first ten minutes and completed his hat trick in the fourth quarter. His younger brother Timme van der Heijden also scored against Hurley, who lost all five league games. The new Straggler in the Tulp main class has waited for a victory in the Tulp main class for 15 games. The new leader, on the other hand, is a good run. The team of coach Erik van Driel won his last four games and is already undefeated eight league games in a row. Remarkable: In the last five home games, Rotterdam scored no fewer than 33 goals: 8-4 Nijmegen, 5-0 Klein Switzerland, 4-2 Bloemendaal, 7-2 HDM and 9-0 Hurley.
Amsterdam-Laren 9-0
Hat-tricks from Dayan Cassiem and Boris Burkhardt contributed to the thunderous 9-0 win over promoted Laren. Burkhardt also reached a milestone. His second goal was his 100th goal in the Tulp main class (51 at home, 50 away). He is already at 11 goals this season, including four from a penalty corner. The ruling national champions remained unbeaten and climbed from sixth to third place, two points from leaders Rotterdam. Laren, who saw another penalty stroke stopped by goalkeeper Ollie Payne via Tomas Selles, lost 11 of the last 12 road races against Amsterdam. The last six league games all resulted in defeats, although the team stays tenth on the league table.
Pinoké-Den Bosch 3-3
Pinoké, who started the day as front runners, seemed on the way to their fourth victory of the season when they led 3-1. In the final phase, however, the competition tipped and Den Bosch still managed to save a point. Earlier in the game, Goalie Hidde Brink turned a Timo Boers -fine. Boers made up for his ‘wrong’ by pushing the 3-3 from a penalty corner. It was his 49th penalty corner goal. Thanks to the draw, the Bosch formation remained unbeaten in the last six collisions with Pinoké. Den Bosch was in eighth place and Pinoké lost the lead and even fell outside the top three.
Bloemendaal-Kampong 5-4
In recent history, Bloemendaal has proven to be a difficult obstacle for Kampong to overcome and this time it proved that too. Bloemendaal came at the top of their own head in a competition that is rich in goals. It ended 5-4. Floris Wortelboer opened the score after six minutes, but then Bloemendaal had to move the ground several times (1-2, 2-3, 3-4). In the final phase, newcomer Elian Mazkour de Mussen gave the victory. Bloemendaal is now thirteen games in a row unbeaten against Kampong and rises to second place. For Kampong, now ninth, this is the worst start of the season since 2009-10. There was personal success for Duco Telgenkamp, who scored twice. His first goal was his 50th official goal in Kampong sweater.
