Leading 2026 Kenya Open Contenders
Angel Ayora
Angel Ayora continues to develop into one of the standout young artists on the DP World Tour. The 22-year-old Spaniard’s effortless pace and consistent tee-to-green control have translated into several strong results throughout the early part of the season.
With his calm demeanor and neat scrambling skills, Ayora seems well suited for the test in Kenya. If he continues his current form, a first DP World Tour title could be within reach this week.
Hennie Du Plessis
South African Hennie Du Plessis brings both consistency and power to Nairobi, his precise long iron play making him a natural contender on higher courts where distance control is key.
Du Plessis, who finished in the top 10 in Bahrain and Dubai, appears to have earned a win; his stable temperament and ability to cope with varying African conditions make him one of the most logical favorites.
Tristan Laurens
Multiple DP World Tour winner Tristan Laurens returns to the event he had previously come close to, and recent form suggests another strong showing could be on the way.
His mix of calmness, sharp wedge play and confident putting gives him the perfect toolkit. Lawrence rarely wastes shots due to poor court management, and in a field that rewards patience, you can expect him to be a weekend player.
Calum Hill
The Scot’s revival in recent months has been one of the Tour’s quieter success stories. After rediscovering his full fitness, Calum Hill is starting to show the form that once made him a winner on the DP World Tour.
His accurate driving and sharp iron play suit Karen’s layout well, and with his confidence returning, Hill looks set for another deep run to maintain his form.
Casey Jarvis
Another player in South Africa’s rich pipeline of emerging talent, Casey Jarvis has already made waves with his calm, collected play and ability to play low when conditions permit.
After posting back-to-back top 10s in the International Swing, Jarvis’ balanced short game and confident putting make him one of the most likely winners in the field.
Joost Luiten
Dutch veteran Joost Luiten remains one of the Tour’s most consistent ball strikers and returns to Kenya after some encouraging starts to open the season.
Experience and precision are often crucial in Nairobi, and Luiten’s track record in demanding conditions makes him an ever-present competitor. If he finds rhythm early, his patience and control could easily yield another top five finish.
