The Orlando Magic have once again been tested by injuries, but optimism is growing that reinforcements are finally on the way.

Chief among them is Moritz Wagner, who is expected to make his long-awaited season debut on Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans, marking a major milestone in his recovery.

Wagner has been sidelined since he tore his ACL in December 2024, an injury that wiped out the final 52 games of last season, all 39 games starting this year, and Orlando’s entire 2025 playoff run.

His return would close the book on a lengthy rehabilitation process and restore a familiar presence to the Magic’s offensive line.

Since joining Orlando in 2021, Wagner has carved out a solid role as a reliable big off the bench.

Over 241 appearances with the Magic, the 6-foot-1 center has provided consistent energy and scoring punch, averaging 10.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in just 18 minutes per night, production that the team has sorely lacked in his absence.

The help may not stop there. Head coach Jamahl Mosley indicated that Franz Wagner is also nearing a return, noting that both Wagner brothers have steadily increased their workload on the field in recent weeks.

Franz has worked his way back from a high ankle sprain in early December, and while no exact date has been set, his comeback appears to be getting closer as Orlando looks to regain some much-needed lineup stability.
