A Kabaddi match between boys and girls in the Niwari district of Madhya Pradesh, organized on the occasion of the National Sports Day (on August 29 every year), caused a political controversy after a video of the game went viral on social media. The BJP hit back to the congress for raising objections, and accused it from dragging sports to politics. BJP leader Anil Pandey said that the congress must first clarify its position about the controversial comments of his leaders instead of focusing on players.
