Some of my favorite lunch box ideas for teenagers share!
Hello friends! How are you? I hope you have a wonderful morning so far. This week I packed with podcast interviews and customer conversations – here Goooooo – because the pilot is at home and can take over home school tasks.
For today’s message I wanted to share some lunch box ideas for teenagers. I make the girls’ lunch every day and I like to put them together. Liv’s School offers a hot lunch, which takes various fast food restaurants, but it is super expensive (such as $ 20 for chick-film-a) and they don’t even keep the food warm before they serve it to the children. So for quality and cost reasons I keep making their food here at home.
Last year I sometimes opened Liv’s lunch box to wash it, and there would still be quite a bit of it here.
“Why didn’t you eat lunch? Are you not hungry during lunch?”
“I’m a little hungry, but sometimes I don’t really want a bagel or a sandwich … I would love a meal.”
“A meal? Like what do you mean?”
“Such as windows, or chicken, or salad or something.”
This surprised me. I was still sort of her ‘small child lunches’. Don’t get me wrong, they still looked good and had a lot of tasty and healthy components, but she wanted a real meal instead of a bagel or pb & j. It was a huge light bulb moment for me because I would feel the same. I don’t like to eat the same cold things every day, and for lunch I often prefer a * meal * instead of a bagel or pb & j.
[And for the friends out there who might be wondering why she didn’t pack her own lunch, she was dancing 10+ hours a week last year across town and had hours of homework each night. It’s also one of those things that I’m happy to do for them – I enjoy it!]
I started asking her to ask lunch ideas and to take her to Costco and Whole Foods to choose things that look good. Now I make her * meals * for lunch that are still just as fast as making a PB & J or Bagel, but they are more satisfactory and more pleasant.
Here are some things that are in the rotation:
Lunch ideas followed ideas for teenagers
Main course:
Saladple
This is the best pasta salad in the world and you can make it in advance to enjoy all week.
Chopped salad with homemade dressing
Liv loves a chopped salad and I usually add different types of greens, a protein (such as remaining chicken or sliced deli -limehole), garbanzo beans, edamame, poshi artichokes or asparagus, grated cheese, olives, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, olives, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables,, vegetables,, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables,, vegetables,, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, green Vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, vegetables, and a homemade dressing.
Jennifer Aniston Salad
We all love this salad And it is so easy to pack for lunch with grilled chicken on it.
Egg bites
These can also be made in advance and frozen. We all love these Mediterranean egg bites or these Starbucks copycat egg bites.

Windows or Buldok
She likes windows and doesn’t mind eating the cold/room temperature, so I will make it the night before and keep it in a glass container.
Cut grilled chicken with immersed sauces and rice
I will often pack chicken or meatballs for meals and in her lunch with ranch or bbq sauce to dive.
Ravioli with olive oil and grated cheese on top
For the boil the ravioli, sprinkle olive oil at the top and grated parmegiano reggiano.
Pizza
It’s so easy to finish and pack a few pieces of pizza
Leftovers
It is funny because as a child I hated left, but the girls love them. Sometimes after dinner I will ask what I can pack her for lunch and she will ask if we have leftovers from our meal. If we do that, I just pack them in. Things such as lasagna, enchiladas, papusas, chili or ground beef, and stir fries are all options that she wanted to pack and take it for lunch.
Greek bowls with pita bread
Rice, chicken, hummus, Greek salad, grape leaves and pita
Sides:
Homemade energy balls
Fruit
I will prepare it, chopping and preparing a ton of fruit for the week, because we all love to snack it. I usually buy what is in the season, so lately it has been berries (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries), grapes, a few types of melon and a pineapple. I enjoy the berries for 2-5 minutes in vinegar and water and let them dry completely before I save in glass containers. I also chop the melon and pineapple and save in glass containers.

Jerky
Chips-Boulder, Siete of Jackson are the Go-Tos, but she also loves Taki’s occasionally or the Copycat Taki of the Trader Joe
Dried fruit or fruit strips
Poshi Vegetarian Packaging
Cut vegetables with hummus
Cheese
Yogurt with fruit on top
Homemade cookies, brownies, bars or some chocolate for dessert
I try to reduce the amount of pacakged snacks that we buy, but we still get snacky things and pantry -not Thrive market < - My link saves you 40% on your first order.
So, tell me, friends: what do your teenagers like to eat for lunch? What is the hot lunchitutaion at your school?
At Liv’s kindergarten in San Diego they had the best hot lunch options. You could order sushi (!), Acai bowls, caesars salads, soups, sandwiches, it was ridiculous.
