Luka Doncic will be in Los Angeles on 3 August for a Jordan Brand Promotional Tour, who is eligible one day after he is eligible to sign a contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. Doncic is generally expected to sign an extension of a certain type with the Lakers.
The Lakers are open to every contract extension structure that Doncic prefers this season outside season. Doncic can sign an extension of four years, $ 229 million with the Lakers. As an alternative, he could opt for a shorter three-year-old, $ 165 million deal with a player option for 28-29, which positions himself for a potentially five-year contract of $ 418 million in 2028 when he reached 10 years.
Doncic can also play his current contract up to 25-26 before choosing between a five-year-old, $ 296 million deal with the Lakers, or a four-year contract of $ 219 million elsewhere. The current Doncic deal comprises a player option worth $ 48.9 million for the 26-27 season.
