Lotus Cars Malaysia has delivered its 250th Eletre – quite a remarkable achievement considering the hyper SUV’s premium price tag. So if today is the day you go to pick yours up, you want to feel super special, and the team certainly rose to the occasion, and then some, for Adam Shamil.
At 31 years old, Adam is Malaysia’s youngest Eletre owner to date and a man of many talents. Hailing from Kota Kinabalu, he is a content creator, entrepreneur, professional presenter, singer and founder of Sabah-based dessert brand Chunk and Dunk.
When Adam arrived at Lotus Kuala Lumpur with a video team to capture every personal moment, he was welcomed by the Lotus team and served artisan pastries and drinks, which he and his party thoroughly enjoyed.
The Sabahan was then delighted to be presented with a 1:18 diecast model of the Eletre, of which only 1,200 exist worldwide. He was then led to the delivery area, which was specially designed to not only accentuate the beauty of the vehicle, but also to evoke an atmosphere of prestige, luxury and exclusivity.
One dramatic tug on the fabric and there it was: Adam was over the moon to see his own Eletre 600 Sport SE, dressed in an appealing matte liquid metal silver. With 612 hp, 710 Nm of torque and a sprint time of 4.5 seconds, Adam no longer has an excuse to be late!
Almost nothing else on the market offers this kind of power at this price, and the Sport SE’s dynamic handling (comprising an active anti-roll bar and rear-wheel steering) and active rear spoiler join forces with Lotus’ renowned chassis know-how to keep all that power under control.
Also charges quickly: the Eletre is an 800-volt electric car and can handle up to 350 kW DC (10-80% in 20 minutes) and 22 kW AC. The range is no less than 600 km WLTP.
Knowing that fully imported (CBU) EVs would cost more next year when their tax-free status ends, Adam decided it was now or never as Lotus EV prices could rise by more than RM200,000. Furthermore, the active Lotus Official Club Malaysia provides owners with a platform to enjoy the company of like-minded individuals.
In addition to content for his own Instagram page, videos were also filmed in collaboration with the Koocester team, known for their automotive and lifestyle productions. Reels and TikTok videos of the visit will soon be published on both parties’ social media platforms.
