“We don’t do what we do for recognition or awards,” Davis said. “We do it to give back to this great sport that we all love.”
The Edward A. Turville President’s Award is one of the Foundation’s highest honors for volunteerism and leadership. Davis’ decades of service exemplify the spirit of volunteerism that underpins the Foundation’s mission to expand access to tennis, support local programs and manage philanthropic resources in service of resilient, inclusive communities.

“I’ve been doing this for USTA Florida for 25 years. I came here from a community tennis association, and you heard me say that earlier today, and that’s where grassroots tennis really starts, at the local level,” Davis added. “What we’re doing here this weekend is taking what we do to the local level.”
Davis is currently a member of the USTA Florida Section Foundation and previously served as chairman of the USTA Florida Foundation Board. He has served on the foundation board since 2012, chaired multiple committees and regularly served as a board liaison, helping guide program priorities, making grant decisions and developing volunteer development initiatives that strengthen tennis programs and public services in the community.
The first-ever USTA Florida Tennis Summit brought together coaches, volunteers, providers and organizational leaders under the theme “Florida Tennis: Big, Bold Moves,” and Donn Davis’ recognition with the Edward A. Turville President’s Award underscored the critical role of leadership, collaboration and advocacy in shaping a stronger, more inclusive future for tennis across the state.
