The race was moved to yesterday after the last six races were abandoned last Saturday evening.
Subdued at the start by driver Danielle Hill Lochinvar Magic, who was backed as favourite, settled at the back of the field. Second favorite Imposter Boy got a hard run into the lead, while Splash of Paynt served him outside the leader.
LOCHINVAR MAGIC. NOVEMBER 24
With a lap to go, Art Regal was three wide outside and making solid ground and Lochinvar Magic were able to make a run. Splash Of Paynt moved forward along the back straight, but Art Regal kept up his run and took the lead on the straightening. Lochinvar Magic seemed to be working but towards the finish he took matters into his own hands and stormed home to narrowly beat Art Regal with Splash Of Paynt in a brave third.
Early in his career, Lochinvar Magic was sold at the NSW Yearling sale and prepared by Kerry Ann Morris. In March this year he was sold to Kevin Gordon who then gave the colt to Ryan Hryhorec to train.

Hryhorec commented on Lochinvar Magic’s performance.
It suited him well as they were running fast at the front. He is still quite new at it with only 15 races. He has a good attitude and wants to win.
He’s probably hanging out for a good break. There is a $25,000 race we can consider in a few weeks in Globe Derby.
He is the best three-year-old pacer I have in my stable and he will come back better next time.
Lochinvar Magic is out of the Art Major mare Angel of Arts who won six races with 15 placings from just 32 appearances and just $100,000 in stakes. Her best performance came in her last race start when she was narrowly defeated in the Empire VicBred mares final at Melton. She has also produced a two-year-old filly Angelic by Captaintreacherous.
It was a big day for Hryhorec as he trained five winners for the day.
His first success was with the four-year-old Star Of Patrick (Father Patrick), ridden by Danielle Hill, which won a Trotters event.
Hryhorec then rode the promising two-year-old Idealogy (Aldebaran Eagle) to compete in the young trotting event on his debut. Hryhorec was then back in control to guide filly Torque Intheusa (American Ideal) into the lead in her Pacers event.
Former Victorian mare Ebony’s Avenger (Kvintet Avenger) was too strong for the locals in the Open Trotters event when she was ridden by Hill before Lochinvar Magic edged out the Sires Produce.
