The Australian Open is the newest event of the new DP World Tour season 2025/26 and returns to the Royal Melbourne Golf Club for the 17th time.
It alternates between Kingston Heath Golf Club and The Victoria Golf Club, where it was held in 2024 as a combined event, along with the Women’s Australian Open.
The tournament dates back to 1904 and has been part of the ANZ Tour since 1973. In 2022, the tournament was part of the DP World Tour for the first time.
Ryggs Johnston is the reigning champion after winning the last edition in 2024 and is back to defend his title in an event featuring Rory McIlroy in the midst of the betting favorites.
