Liverpool is ‘increasingly likely’ to offer at Crystal Palace Central Defender Marc Guehi in the January transfer window, according to TBR. The defensive Premier League champions were close to closing a deal for Guehi on the last day of the summer transfer window and are a January deal for the international central defender of England.
Giovanni Leoni, who joined Liverpool at Parma by the window of the summer transfer, has sustained an ACL injury and will spend a length of saying on the sidelines, which starts to look at the signing of a new center-back when the transfer window will be reopened in January.
Journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR: “Liverpool is clearly upset for the player, he had looked so good in the training and had really settled well, but the club just didn’t want to hurry.
“The match against Southampton was the target for his first start, and he looked really comfortable and composed, but it’s just gloomy news for the boy and the club.
“Liverpool was open to a deal in January, and they are still on the market for Marc Guehi, as well as others, but will certainly increase this. We will have to see how it is about Joe Gomez and the like in terms of fitness, but this is really busy on their resources.”
