With a history spanning 133 years and more than 6,000 games played, Liverpool Football Club has racked up some impressive scores, but only three games since 2000 have ranked among the biggest.

Liverpool are the most successful club in England and have a long list of famous victories to their name, both domestically and on the European stage.

However, their record scoring record has stood since 1974 and it will take something special to eclipse this as Bob Paisley’s side scored eleven unanswered goals.

Jurgen Klopp’s side came close in 2022 when they beat Bournemouth 9-0 at Anfield in what remains the biggest win in Premier League history.

So let’s take a look at Liverpool’s 14 biggest wins of all time (if you’re wondering why 14, the next best result on this list came 14 different times!):

Liverpool’s biggest ever win

  • Liverpool 11-0 Stromsgodset IF – September 1974
  • Liverpool 10-0 Dundalk – September 1969
  • Liverpool 10-0 Fulham – September 1986
  • Liverpool 10-1 Rotherham – February 1896
  • Liverpool 10-1 Oulu Palloseura – October 1980
  • Liverpool 9-0 Newtown– October 1892
  • Liverpool 9-0 Crystal Palace – September 1989
  • Liverpool 9-0 Bournemouth – August 2022
  • Liverpool 8-0 Higher Walton – September 1892
  • Liverpool 8-0 Burnley – December 1928
  • Liverpool 8-0 TSV 1860 Munich – November 1967
  • Liverpool 8-0 Swansea – January 1990
  • Liverpool 8-0 Besiktas – November 2007
  • Stoke 0-8 Liverpool – November 2000

Liverpool’s biggest ever win was in a European Cup Winners’ Cup match against Norwegian side Stromsgodset IF in 1974, with nine different goalscorers among the eleven goals scored.

Alec Lindsay, Phil Boersma, Phil Thompson, Steve Heighway, Peter Cormack, Emlyn Hughes, Tommy Smith, Ian Callaghan and Ray Kennedy all scored for the biggest outright win which has proven difficult to beat!

Liverpool won 10-0 twice, against Dundalk in 1969 and Fulham in 1986, and also recorded two 10-1 victories, against Rotherham in 1896 and Oulun Palloseura in 1980.

The most recent addition to the list was the 9-0 win against Bournemouth in 2022, with Klopp’s men becoming the second team to win on time, equaling the 1989 victory over Crystal Palace.

Luis Diaz (twice), Roberto Firmino (twice), Harvey Elliott, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Fabio Carvalho all scored on the day.

Incredibly, there have been six 8-0 wins in the club’s history, including the 2008 Champions League win over Besiktas. It was the second of three record victories since 2000.

And you may have noticed a trend that the majority of these record wins have taken place at Anfield.

In fact, only one was played on the road, and that was an 8-0 win over Stoke in 2000.

Christian Ziege, Vladimir Smicer, Markus Babbel, Robbie Fowler (hat-trick), Sami Hyypia and Danny Murphy all scored in what remains Liverpool’s biggest ever away win.

Arne Slot’s men come closest to a 5-0 win over West Ham in 2024/25, but will he ever oversee a team on this list?
