Guler is ideal to play on the wing for Liverpool
Arda Guler would be a great signing for Liverpool, but not in midfield. The Turkey international isn’t the strongest physically and doesn’t look very comfortable under pressure, so the right wing may be where he fits better.
He has a good eye for finding line-breaking passes in the final third, while his late runs into the penalty area usually mean he is free from marking and can occasionally contribute to the goals as well.
Defensively, he presses and blocks passing lanes nicely. Having played under Xabi Alonso in the very recent past, it is reasonable to think that the player’s qualities would be fully appreciated if he joins Liverpool this summer.
It will be interesting to see how much Liverpool are willing to pay for him, but given that Real Madrid already have Jude Bellingham in Arda Guler’s position, they may be willing to cash in on the Turk for the right amount.
