Liverpool manager Arne Slot is under immense pressure after a disappointing start to the Premier League season.
Liverpool were expected to defend their Premier League crown but have failed to perform at a high level. They have lost nine of their last 12 games in all competitions and will be desperate to get back on track.
So far they have shown no signs of progress under the Dutch manager. He received heavy backing from significant funds during the summer window and Liverpool signed quality players. However, Slot has not been able to get the best out of his players either. It seems like a change is coming.
Luis Enrique replaces Slot?
According to a report from TransfersThe Dutch manager could be shown the door in the coming weeks, with Liverpool looking to modern manager Luis Enrique as a possible alternative.
He has done an exceptional job at PSG, helping them win the league title and the UEFA Champions League last season. The French team played mesmerizing football along the way and there is no doubt that Enrique is one of the best managers in the world.
Enrique would be an excellent appointment
He could be an exceptional signing for Liverpool if they manage to get the deal done. However, PSG claim there is no doubt about his future and they want him to continue. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can convince Enrique to take on a new challenge.
He has a proven background at the highest level and there is no doubt that he is good enough to manage the biggest clubs in the world.
In the meantime, Slot still hopes to turn the tide and keep his job. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop in the coming weeks.
