‘All Others’ 4-5 favorite, Ted Noffey 10-1 in pool 1 of Kentucky Derby Future Wager

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Live racing resumed Wednesday at Churchill Downs for a five-day week, highlighted by the opportunity to watch and bet on the Breeders’ Cup World Championships from Del Mar on Friday and Saturday.
The first post is every day at 1:00 PM (all times eastern) and the entrance gates on Friday and Saturday open early at 11:15 AM
The 10-race Friday schedule at Churchill Downs runs from 1 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., while the Breeders’ Cup “Future Stars Friday” card at Del Mar starts at 2:35 p.m. The first of five Breeders’ Cup races begins at 5:45 p.m. with the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (GI). The featured event is the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (GI), which takes place as Race 9 at 7:45 p.m. and is part of the “Prep Season” on the road to the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve, which awards qualifying points to the top five finishers on a scale of 30-15-9-6-3 heading into Kentucky Derby 152.
Saturday’s live card featuring 11 races at Churchill Downs, featuring the 17e The $300,000 Bet On Sunshine (Listed) in Race 7 takes place from 1:00 PM to 7:20 PM. The action at Del Mar kicks off at 1:05 p.m., with the first of nine Breeders’ Cup events taking place as Race 4 at 3 p.m. The $7 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (GI) is Race 9 at 6:25 p.m
Several members of the Churchill Downs jockey colony will be in action during the Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar, including Adam Beschizza (Friday only), Tyler Gaffalione, Florent Geroux (Saturday only), Luan Machado (Friday only), Irad Ortiz Jr., Jose Ortiz And Luis Saez.
Simulcast betting on all Breeders’ Cup races is available on the second floor of the clubhouse and at select dining locations. Guests attending Churchill Downs on Friday can place bets in advance on Saturday’s full championship card from Del Mar. There will be no advance betting Thursday for Friday’s Breeders’ Cup program.

The first of six opportunities to bet on Kentucky Derby 152 begins Wednesday through Friday with Pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager, headlined by the likely Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (Grade I) favorite. Ted Noffey (10-1) and the always popular “All other colts and geldings were born in 2023‘ option from the 40 bets listed as the overall 4-5 favorite.
Betting for Pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager begins Wednesday at noon (all times Eastern) and closes before Friday’s $2 Million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at approximately 6 p.m.
Ted Noffey is one of eight competitors in this year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and has placed himself at the top of the class for Kentucky Derby 152 following his impressive victories in the Oct. 4 Breeders’ Futurity (GI) at Keeneland and Sept. 1 Hopeful (GI) at Saratoga.
Pool 1 contains eight horses under the care of six-time Kentucky Derby winner Bob Baffert: #2 Blacksmith (60-1); #3 Boy (50-1); #4 Brant (15-1); #9 Desert Gate (75-1); #20 Kristofferson (80-1); #21 Litmus Test (80-1); #28 Plutarch (90-1); and #29 Origin (80-1).

All told, there are six Future Wager pools for Kentucky Derby 152. Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 2 and the Sire Future Wager run from Thursday, November 27 through Sunday, November 30. The final four pools will take place after the new year: Pool 3 (January 16-18); Group 4 (February 13-15); Pool 5 (March 13-15) and Pool 6 (April 2-4). The only Longines Kentucky Oaks Future Wager runs concurrently with Pool 5.
There are no refunds on the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. If Churchill Downs officials determine during this week’s pool that any of the betting interests experience an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from competing in the Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.

Live racing at Churchill Downs resumed Wednesday with an initial post at 1 p.m. The main track was listed as sloppy and the races were taken off the grass due to persistent rain in the Louisville area. The 20 cent Derby City 6 Jackpot, carrying $6,229, started in Race 5, while the $3 Late Pick 3 started in Race 8.
