– Nearly 26,000 Lincoln Aviators are recalled because the side windows can injure passengers.
The recalled 2025 Lincoln Aviator -back windows must automatically turn around when the windows close with an object in the way, such as a finger.
But Lincoln says that when closing the windows with the global closing function, the side windows of the side exert too much strength when they come across an object before the windows automatically reverse.
According to Lincoln:
“During a ‘Global Close’ processing activated using the FOB key or the mobile application from Lincolnway, the side power with the side should not automatically reverse the back when they come across an object while closing until after exercising an upward force that is larger than expected.”
And specifically the final force can exceed the 100 N -limit set out in federal safety regulations.
Lincoln found the problem in May when engineers tested the Aviator Power window automatically reversing system. Ford and the door module supplier investigated to determine the main cause and determined the supplier mistakes with door module version 20.4 software for 2025 Aviators.
“This function was not intended for Aviator and Ford was not made aware that it had been engaged. As a result, no function parameters were calibrated.” – Documentation recall
More than 2,400 Lincoln Aviators are recalled in Canada.
Aviator Recall Letters are sent from September 15, 2025. Lincoln dealers must update the software for driver and passenger door module.
Aviator owners can call 866-436-7332 and ask about the recall of Lincoln by module Number 25c33.
