Lewis Steele has shared positive updates on two Liverpool players who are nearing a comeback after their respective injury problems.

Arne Slot has been without a natural senior right-back in recent games but is hopeful Conor Bradley can be available for the trip to Leeds on Saturday, while Jeremy Frimpong is targeting a mid-December return from his thigh problem.

As well as the impending return to the first team, a number of youngsters from Rob Page’s under-21 squad are also making their own comebacks.

Lewis Steele shares good news about the injured Liverpool duo

In his latest Liverpool Confidential roundup for MailsportSteele reported that Jayden Danns is back on the grass doing ball work as he speeds up his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The 19-year-old, whose loan spell at Sunderland was ruined by a back problem last season, could return to full fitness in early January, with several clubs keen to loan him out during next month’s transfer window.

Meanwhile, fellow teenage striker Will Wright is also on the grass as he continues his recovery from a nasty injury that left him on a stretcher in the UEFA Youth League against Atletico Madrid in September.

When can Danns and Wright next play for Liverpool?

With the Premier League 2 season in its winter break and not resuming until the second weekend of January, it would be a huge boost for Liverpool’s under-21s if Danns and Wright both manage to make a full recovery by then.

The two forwards missed a lot of football last autumn, with their respective injuries hampering their development, but thankfully they appear to be making good progress behind the scenes as their comebacks draw closer.

Depending on who the Reds face in the FA Cup third round, which takes place on the weekend of January 10/11, they could even be included in the matchday squad for that match. Rio Ngumoha made his senior debut against Accrington Stanley at that stage of the competition last season.

In any case, the break in the under-21s domestic season means that, if all goes well, Danns and Wright won’t miss much more football, apart from the UEFA Youth League match against Inter Milan next Tuesday (and LFC have already qualified for the next round of that tournament).

Fingers crossed that the teenage duo will be back in action on matchday soon, and that the injury problems that have sidelined them in recent months will be a thing of the past and not a recurring theme.
