If you want the most hardcore, track-oriented Mustang that you may be able to buy, the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD will cost you an eye-watery $ 327,960. Nevertheless, it will shoot the Nürburgring in less than seven minutes, clocking in with a time of 6: 52.072. It is also slower around the ‘ring than the cheaper Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. So that’s it, right? The Mustang GTD is irrelevant and a waste of money, and everyone who buys one is an idiot or has too much money for their own willing. But is that really true?
I mean, you could certainly visit the argument that anyone who can afford to spend $ 328,000 on a car of any nature too much money for their own good will, and you would be right, but that is not really a Mustang GTD-specific problem. I would also claim that ZR1 buyers have too much money for their own good. In a world where enough people have so much money that they can afford a car that costs as much as a house, is the Mustang GTD really irrelevant?
Our friends at SavaGeGeese recently spent some time driving the Mustang GTD and talking to the development team, and not only does it seem to convince both Jack and Mark, even the hardcore ZR1 fans may have to admit that this car is really better than they thought.
A top experience on the right track
Now I’m not going to pretend that this video will be a fast watch. It is almost an hour long, and even if you deliver the speed to 2x, you still look at an investment of 28 minutes. That is a lot of time to spend on a car video, but this is also SavaGegeese what we are talking about. You know that it will be worth your time and that it will contain more information than you probably get from any other video you see on the Mustang GTD.
However, if you are impatient, you can always skip all background information and jump directly to the 38 minutes, where the driving impressions begin. If you do that, just be prepared to go back and view the whole thing, because even if you are a hater, you will listen to these guys talk about driving the Mustang GTD, you want to learn more about it, guaranteed. I mean, at some point Mark calls it “the top experience I have had on the right track, except the GT3 RS.”
He immediately follows that by saying: “There is nothing that I felt that the emotion and the nice part combined, along with not being frustrated with this car, it is just so much fun. You think about it afterwards. I can still think about it with good memories and think:” I want to go back in this car. “It is so rare, with all the cars we drive, and there is something to be said about that.” In the meantime, Jack calls it “one of [his] Favorite things [he’s] once driven. “
Talk about some serious praise. And those are just a few selected quotes. Is it still too expensive? Maybe. But there is so much more about what makes a car great to drive than a simple round and price comparison, and even if savagegeese cannot convince you to spend money on a Mustang, you must at least respect what the team has done here.
