Leoncavallo under deportation, but the expression of interest in that property appears in the suburbs

A day after another attempted deportation, the Leoncavallo Anti -Fascist Mothers Association presented the municipality of Milan an expression of preliminary interest with an inspection request for the possible concession of the use of a property in Via San Dionigi, the area in the immediate vicinity of Porto di Mare that had already been taken in the last months in recent months.

“The administration welcomes this availability in the hope that we will be able to achieve an event of definitive importance -the municipality says in a note -. As repeatedly repeats, it is in fact the intention of the administration to find a pragmatic solution that, in accordance with the rules, the experience, history and evolution secure that the Leoncavallo -social center has experienced in the past few years. As soon as the final proposal has been received, the municipality starts the procedure for the allocation of the property.

That planned for tomorrow is another attempt to expel Leoncavallo from the building via Watteau from the Cabassi family. On the website of the Social Center we read: “The Leoncavallo Anti -Fascist Mothers Association is still under deportation. On Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 10 am, the judicial officer and the lawyers of the building will try to continue with the eviction. He supports the professions, the Leoncavallo and his associations”.

The members of the Social Center have already known that a garrison for Leoncavallo is planned for tomorrow: “Music, culture will wait.

Already in January it was announced that the municipality of Milan had identified a building for the transfer of the social center: an industrial warehouse in Via San Dionigi. In December, the mayor Beppe Sala had confirmed that the administration was looking for a place where Lonka could be installed.

In November, the Civil Court of Appeal of Milan condemned the Ministry of the Interior to compensate for three million euros – from Clock SRL, a company of Immobiliaariaaristi Milanese of the Cabassi family, for not releasing the Leoncavallo that has been working on a building for years. For the employment from 2005 to July 2024, the instructions of the Cabassi also mentioned the prime minister by asking for 24 million euros.

The sentence had kept it to realize that it would not be “realistic” that “the police would work out the clearing of the Leoncavallo with the first access” in 2005 and it is reasonable to resolve in “nine years” and therefore in 2014 the deadline for implementation in the light “of the complex situation, management, safety and public order”. Elements that justify the “delay” explain the judges “but not outside the conditions indicated”.
