The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the collapsing Minnesota Timberwolves 115-96 on Sunday.

Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 41 points and eight rebounds, John Collins had 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting and Yanic Konan Niederhauser also contributed 15 points.

Los Angeles took advantage with a 17-3 run to close the third quarter.

On the other end, Anthony Edwards dropped 23 points, Julius Randle had 17 and newcomer Ayo Dosunmu had 11 points and two steals for the Wolves.

The Timberwolves have lost three of their last four, all to sub-.500 opponents, made just 8 of 33 three-point attempts and scored 20 goals while being held under 100 points for the second time this season.

Minnesota suffered one of its most frustrating losses of the season when it blew an 18-point lead in the third quarter in a home loss to the lowly New Orleans Pelicans.

The first half was more of the same for the Wolves as Leonard scored 24 points and went on an 18-2 run late in the second quarter to give the Clippers a 54-42 lead.

The Clippers played without their two most important acquisitions at the trade deadline, Darius Garland in exchange for James Harden, as he remained sidelined with a sprained big toe on his right foot.

Los Angeles plays at Houston on Tuesday, while the Timberwolves host the Hawks on Monday.
