Alisha Lehmann made her Leicester debut last week in the match against West Ham. The WSL continues this week with Leicester playing Man Utd at home tomorrow. The game against West Ham was crucial and a draw would have been fantastic, but as we all know it all ended in defeat.

Lehmann (27) came on as a substitute in the second half and pushed for a goal with Leicester trailing 0-2 at the time. She put pressure on West Ham defender Eva Nystrom, who put the ball into her own net. Hopefully we’ll see Leicester’s most popular player in all categories, from home starts to Man Utd.

A number of changes were made in January, after Janice Cayman (PSV Eindhoven), Katie Keen (Sheffield United), Nelly Las (Ipswich), Simone Sherwood (Sheffield United) and Hlin Eriksdottir (Fiorentina) all left the club, either on loan or permanently. Cayman has left permanently, the four others have been loaned out.

The game against West Ham shows how difficult this season has been and hopefully the new faces can contribute and help get points. The next three are very difficult and come against Man Utd and Man City. Let’s hope there will be a competitive Leicester team in attendance tomorrow, with Alesha Lehmann contributing from the start.

The women’s situation is just as confusing as the men’s, with a lot of rotation and a squad full of new faces, changing a lot during each transfer window. On the managerial front we have also seen a lot of changes, with new faces almost every season. Current manager does Rick Passmoorwho joined the club just weeks before the start of the season and took charge Amandine Miquel.

In previous seasons, this women’s team was under pressure, but still managed to survive in the top flight. We believe the incident may have taken the focus away from the game itself Willie Kirk. He was told he was in a relationship with one of his players at Leicester and had to quit his job.

He struggled to find a new job straight away but has had jobs in Swedish women’s football at Linköping since leaving Leicester in March 2024 and is now the head coach of Stockholm club Djurgarden.

Former Leicester favourite Emile Heskey is head of women’s football development at the football club. A role he has fulfilled since 2021. A year earlier, he returned to the club as an ambassador and mentor.

As always, we will follow up on upcoming games and continue our support.
