Leicester City defender Victor Kristiansen ‘could’ look for a move in the January transfer window LeicestershireLive reporter Jordan Blackwell.

Kristiansen, 22, joined the Foxes in 2023 and is under contract at the King Power Stadium until June 2028. However, his long-term future is currently up in the air.

In this latest update on his situation, journalist Blackwell has given his verdict, according to a report on sister title HullLive: “Victor Kristiansen was the first-choice left-back on loan to Champions League qualifiers Bologna the last time Leicester played in the Championship. The fact he is now struggling to even make the bench could mean he looks for a move in January.”

Nottingham Forest were apparently interested in a move under their former head coach Nuno Espirito Santo in August, according to Ben Jacobs on X. Ultimately, however, nothing came of that and he remained a Leicester City player even after the deadline of Monday, September 1.

Leicester City latest news about Victor Kristiansen

Leicester city signed Kristiansen when they were in the top flight. LCFC have picked him up to strengthen their defensive department.

Since then he has made 47 appearances for the Foxes in all competitions, including 31 last season. However, his playing time has dried up in the second tier in recent times.

The Danish international, who has eighteen caps to his name, rose through the ranks of FC Copenhagen’s youth academy. He was a regular for the Danish Superliga at various youth levels.

He broke into the first team as a youngster and played 73 games, finding the net once from the back. Leicester City then came calling and loaned him to Bologna during his first twelve months in England.

What about Victor Kristiansen and Leicester City?

Leicester City must make a decision on what to do with Kristiansen. He has fallen out of favor at LCFC and as Blackwell said, a departure would not be a surprise in the near future.

The Foxes turned to Marti Cifuentes as their head coach after returning to the Football League. Towards the end of the last campaign he cut ties with QPR.

They currently sit in third place behind Coventry City and Middlesbrough and have 16 points on the board from their first nine games. Cifuentes’ men participate in the play-offs Preston North End, Stoke City and QPR.

Leicester City return to action this weekend with a home game against Portsmouth as they look to maintain their momentum. The last time before the international break they won 3-1 at Swansea City.
