Arsenal striker Leandro Trossard has said that messages that associated with a departure from the Emirates were far away from it this summer.
The 30-year-old Belgian international corresponded to Arsenal in August, with which he set a limit under the speculation that the limited playing time after his switch of £ 21 million from Brighton in January 2023 could lead to a move to Bayern Munich.
The discussions about the deal, where Trossard insured better financial conditions but no extension of a contract that expires in the summer of 2027, started at the beginning of this year under interest of Saudi Arabia.
But the attacker, who was on the bench for the entire month of August, but started the four most recent league games and European matches of Arsenal, has revealed that he was never planning to leave the club. His limited playing time earlier in the season was due to the persistent consequences of a groin injury he sustained in preparation.

“There are always rumors,” says Trossard, who is part of the Belgian team that is opposed to North Macedonia on Friday evening in the Ghelamco Arena in Ghent.
“Leaving has never really been an option. I feel very good at Arsenal. At the beginning of the season I was struggling with an injury. I think those rumors were caused by the lack of minutes.”

Trossard’s recovery in the basic setup has largely been at the expense of Gabriel Martinelli and new acquisition Noni Madueke.
The Belgian has repaid the confidence of Mikel Arteta with a goal against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League. His only goal contribution in the Premier League came in the form of an assist in the 3-0 home victory of last month at Nottingham Forest.
Despite the improved form of Trossard, Arsenal is associated with an attacker from Juventus, Kenan Yildiz, who also operates on the left side of the attack.
But for the time being Trossard is happy that he is healthy again.
“I have had a number of good weeks, both individually and at Arsenal,” he said. “I am finally a fit football player, a player in top form. I am very happy with that.”
Trossard scored 30 goals in 132 games for Arsenal.
