Reade To, Cliff. (KGO) – We follow the story of Berenbraak in Tahoe, which is now ready to take a deadly turn.
State state officials say that a bear has broken into at least one dozen houses in the past month and that it takes her cub with them.
Proponents of animals in the wild now try to keep the bears alive. There is a plea to save the life of bear number 753, known around Lake Tahoe as ‘Hope’.
“There is a death order on her head,” says Ann Bryant, executive director of the Bear League.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has tried to catch the Black Bear and its cub as ‘Bounce’.
Civil servants call Hope a problem bear and quotes a dozen burglaries in a month.
“We are very worries about that. We don’t know what will happen to bounce when she is killed. There is supposedly no room in the rehabilitation centers where Buiter could go,” said Bryant.
The Ministry of Fish and Wildlife said Hope “is the target for fatal removal.”
The explanation continued to read: “We have a responsibility for public safety that we take seriously. A black bear for adults who keep breaking in occupied houses sets up a very dangerous situation.”

Scenes such as a recent burglary in an ice cream shop are common in the Tahoe region, where Bears make their way to houses and cars. Civil servants euthanized this bear last month.
“Many visitors are here, and many second homeowners. They don’t get it yet. They don’t understand that this is Bear Country. If you don’t want bears, there are things you should do to avoid,” Bryant said.
But wild civil servants say they are also trying to break a cycle, and by focusing on the Mama Bear, her baby can be saved.
“When removing the adult bear, we hope to save the life of his cub. Beren Cubs learn to break all their behaviors of their mothers and #753’s Cub at a young age in houses and at an alarming pace. We hope to break through this conflict cycle,” said Fish and Wildlife in a statement.
