Mensik and Michelsen will go for the first time in their career in their career on Friday afternoon when they compete in the second Laver Cup rubber. This is a second consecutive team event for Mensik, which last week just produced Davis Cup Heroics for the Czech Republic for the Czech Republic in Delray Beach against the United States. The visitors came back from a 2-1 deficit and Mensik dominated the clinchen match against Frances Tiafoe in straight sets.

Michelsen plays for the first time since the US Open, where he immediately got upright through Francisco Comesana. The 32nd arranged American was extremely inconsistent in the past month and lost his opening match during six of his last 11 tournaments. Although Mensik has struggled the majority since he triumphes Miami Masters Masters this spring, the world no. 17 now has to drive high thanks to his Davis Cup version.

Flavio Cobolli (EUR) vs. Joao Fonseca (WOR)

Cobolli and Fonseca will also make their Laver Cup debut on Friday, when they end up in their career for the second time. Their only earlier meeting came on the grass court of Halle this summer, and it was an absolute thriller-cobolli that had 5-7, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (8) down from one match point.

Flavio Cobolli

It has been a very successful year for Cobolli, but a heavy workload means that he could wear the piece. The 25th rank Italian reached three of the American Open thanks to a few five sets of victories before he withdrew against fellow countryman Lorenzo Musetti. Fonseca did not play as well as Cobolli, but it means that the 19-year-old Brazilian is well equipped for the autumn swing. An indoor hard court must also be an advantage for Fonseca, who is 13-6 on this surface with a title on the 2024 NextGen ATP Finals. Cobolli, on the other hand, is a terrible 14-26 on inner hard courts.

Pick: Fonseca in 3
