The 2025 Laver Cup competition starts on Friday in the Chase Center in San Francisco. Before working with Carlos Alcaraz in Doubles, Jakub Mensik will represent Europe in a singles match against Alex Michelsen from Team World.

It has been a very successful year for Cobolli, but a heavy workload means that he could wear the piece. The 25th rank Italian reached three of the American Open thanks to a few five sets of victories before he withdrew against fellow countryman Lorenzo Musetti. Fonseca did not play as well as Cobolli, but it means that the 19-year-old Brazilian is well equipped for the autumn swing. An indoor hard court must also be an advantage for Fonseca, who is 13-6 on this surface with a title on the 2024 NextGen ATP Finals. Cobolli, on the other hand, is a terrible 14-26 on inner hard courts.
