The stars, or will we say, the balls have aligned on Thursday for two of the youngest tennis fans who attend the Laver Cup practition session in San Francisco. Asher Peterson, 11 years old, and Matteo Corrales, 9 years old, both from Resding, California, traveled with their families for more than four hours to catch some of their favorite professional players, did not realize that the other was in the neighborhood.

Music from the DJ was Pompen and Taylor Fritz, Alex Michelson, Reilly Opelka and Alex de Minaurour learned their double play, with team world captain Andre Agassi and Vice-captain Patrick Raflter who was close by, assess the action and at a certain moment change the pairs, with the minaur sorted out.

Exactly at 1 p.m. the session of Team World was closed and Fritz and Company launched Balls Popcorn style in a crowd of around 5,000. After a mess by a woman who at the same time ate her nacho’s, Matteo happily grabbed a ball launched by Fritz, and shortly thereafter, Silver Buzz Cut and All, World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz participated.

The six-time large singles champion had quietly gone in a chair on the right and looked at relaxing photos of the action and quickly delighted fans such as Asher with several ballancings in the Chase Arena of 19,000 capacity. Asher’s “catch” was actually an almost -until a young man in the next row thinks back to him the valued ball of his idol, Alcaraz. These fervent young players (Asher: “I played 6-8 hours/day this summer and would ever be pro.”) Were so dizzy with excitement that they will certainly convince their parents to buy tickets for the main event, which starts on Friday, September 19 at 1 pm PST.

However, tickets for actual competition run at a much higher price, $ 500, versus only $ 30 for the practice session. The Laver Cup has been offering these practice cards since 2022, with proceeds that go to local charities. Only two days ago the legend and co-founder of the Laver Cup Roger Federer helped, together with the leader Yannick Noah of Team Europe ,, Unveiled the six public courts shown in nearby McLaren ParkPaying ahead with annual legacy subsidies, which are an essential part of his mission. Dozens of tennis-loving children such as Asher and Matteo came to Federer for a clinic and photo-on about the new courts, which certainly cause an increased love for the game in this great city through the bay.
