Race 4: Optional Claiming (N/W2X), 3-year-olds and higher, mares and mares, 1 1/16 miles
6-3-1-2
#6 Golden Sword (12-1) Was scratched from a race on 6 September and returns here. Although it is a leap in the classroom on paper, it is not so much different than your standard affair at the first level. She adds Lasix and has an early speed in a race without a lot of it. #3 Nice charm (5-2) Comes back in six days after a game effort on the Undercard of the Pennsylvania Derby Day. She rated early in Midpack and lost a heavy photo finish to run for the third consecutive race in the 80s. She has the opportunity to run well from the pace. #1 Lunge (3-2) Won the race that Golden Sword scratched out, a Freakish attempt in which she won with 11 lengths with a career-best 96. It is unlikely that she will repeat it, since it was a career best with a broad margin, but we know that the skills are somewhere.
Race 5: Maiden claims $ 16,000, 3-6 year olds, mares and mares, 1 mile (grass)
4-7-8-10 (dirt: 4-14-16-3)
#4 risky (2-1) Has early speed and comes in for the first time for a tag. She set the pace and first faded a dismissal before the start of the year at Colonial, but on her best day she can hit forward and just continue. Last June she was second at Oncourtcommentator, who won three times and has since finished second in a Invenrace. #7 Sultry air (20-1) Was fourth behind a few of the latter, but it was also her first start of a long break and she had trouble setting up early. She will also benefit from a race under her belt. #8 Radiation tones (5-2) was second for the sultry air last, in a race where she chased a gate-to-wire winner. She has run a 77 in each of her last two starts; None of her rivals is better run at some point than a 73 within their last two.
Race 6: Maiden claims $ 45,000, 2-year-olds, 5 1/2 Furlongs
1-7-11-4
#1 Hard freezing (5-2) was part of an odds-on Jamie Ness linked entry on debut. He fell far behind in early in the five Furlong competition, but met well to grab the fourth. Jaime Rodriguez, the top driver of Ness, was out of the city that day, but now gets the mountain. #7 Golden Sand (7-2) Also closed on debut, for the second place behind an experienced rival. Now he is one of only four horses in this 12-horse field with experience. #11 ski -hazard (30-1) is a half-brother of Alpine Mist, who won on debut and was the winner against Louisiana-Breds. Louisiana stallion Bobby’s Wicked One is doing well with first starters, and he has worked sharply for Madison Meyers. The price is good if you want to start your late pick 5 with a longshot.
Race 7: Starter Optional Claiming $ 16,000, 3-year-olds and higher, 1 1/8 miles (grass)
3-2-10-5 (dirt: 3-13-14-11)
#3 Quistmer (9-2) Has an early speed in a race without much of it and a good draw. He walked well in Monmouth Park all summer, even though he was pressed at the pace in many of his races. If he can even set moderate fractions, he could be gone. #2 Dr. Hyde (5-1) Stout closed and was the second place in a gate-to-wire winner for the last time and was claimed from that race by Brittany Russell. His record of 2-from-25 life is not great, and his final style makes him susceptible to becoming entangled in traffic, but he is still a competition for the exotics. #10 Cap’n Dusty (6-1) Was fourth behind Dr. Hyde last outside. He was taken by Mike Trombetta that day, who holds Jorge Ruiz on board. He ran a sharp 83 two starts back and walked twice in the 1980s last year. Find him to be in Midpack, hopefully in the clear.
Race 8: Optional Claiming (N/W2X), 3-year-olds and higher, mares and mares, 6 furlongs
1-3-7-4
#1 Classic Cap (2-1) Has not won since her victory in the Smart Halo Stakes on this song in 2023, but she has also confronted most of that piece much better. She ran well after a overland journey that was last for the last time in Colonial, and now pulls in while she cuts at a distance. It is a soft field for the level, which should help her. #3 Kokopelli Girl (8-1) Has won four in a row at Penn National, with improving figures every time. David Cora, who drove her during her line, comes in for the mountain. Three of her four wins have come thanks to great stalking journeys, and Cora will certainly try to work out another. #7 Cluck Cluck (4-1) is in phenomenal form this year, with four wins and four seconds in nine starts. Although she has won earlier at this distance, she might be at her best longer.
Race 9: Allowance Optional Claiming (N/W2X), 3-year-olds and higher, 1 1/16 miles (grass)
5-3-2-6 (dirt: 1-6-10-7)
#5 Curly Larry and Mo (8-1) Gate-to-Wire Two Starts went back at Colonial. Bad on the same number, he went at a hot pace, only for tiring and finish third. It is in sharp form with a good tactical speed and can try to set the pace or just sitting. #3 won a price (6-1) Was the fifth for the last time in a salty race on this state. Both top two finishers came back to win their next starts. He won on this song last year and should be in close presence of the pace. #2 Boppy O (7-2) Outkick Curly Larry and Mo to win the last in his first start of the Rick Sillaman Claim. He seems to be a great journey of the pace on the rail and can have a powerful staircase if he finds room at the top of the piece.
Race 10: Maiden Claims $ 45,000, 2-year-olds, mares, 5 1/2 Furlongs
9-6-1-7
#9 Cupid’s Choice (9-5) Was second on debut on Colonial Last Out, by far the best race of the first first starters in the field. She followed a hot pace and led briefly in the play, but was overtaken by an experienced rival who got even further from the leadership. #6 Ginger Snap (9-2) Made her career debut on Dirt in June, and ran a big second after fighting the early lead and the completion of a clear second about her duulating partner. The winner, Dreaming of Alys, won the del Mar Juvenile Fillies a few weeks ago. This returns to dirt after three attempts on the lawn. # 1 Tipmanee (5-1) Sond in second place in her first two starts, including a second place in Doc’s Miracle, who came back to finish second in De Kleine Wonder, in her most recent attempt.
