LAUREL PARK JOCKEYS
It remains Yedsit’s world: teenage phenom Yedsit Hazlewood took another seven wins last race weekend, capped off with a three-sack Sunday… Those were the best in the local colony, and he now has 29 victories at the line… Five riders – Jevian Toledo, Mychel Sanchez, Sheldon Russell, Carlos Lopez and Angel Cruz won two each… Russell’s two winners were well-timed: both came within stakes… 14 riders recorded at least one win… Cruz has 14 wins and is second in line wins, and no other rider is in double figures… Cruz has 3.97 wins, the most among local riders… Andres Chavez is next at 3.40, followed by Hazlewood at 2.90… Added wins compare a rider’s actual wins to the number of wins the odds would have predicted, with a positive total meaning the rider has won more races than his or her horses’ odds suggest… The range of all riders is 3.97 to (-3.37)…
