Laura Woods collapsed while presenting ITV’s coverage of England’s women’s match against Ghana on Tuesday evening.
The 38-year-old was caught by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante before ITV went straight to an ad break.
When reporting returned, host Katie Shanahan announced that she had taken over for Woods, who had become “sick.”
“As you’ve probably noticed, we don’t have the great Laura Woods because she just got sick, but she’s in very good hands, so I’m stepping in at a late hour,” Shanahan said.
Shanahan later added: “She is in very good hands and we wish her a speedy recovery.”
