~ Manmeet Singh, Arshdeep Singh and Dilraj Singh score hat-trick of goals in India’s big win ~
Chennai, November 29, 2025: The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey team continued their fine show in the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025 with another scintillating 17-0 win in their Pool B match against Oman.
In their previous outing, India had convincingly defeated Chile 7-0 and today their attacking hockey was on full display with Manmeet Singh (17′, 26′, 36′), Arshdeep Singh (4′, 33′, 40′) and Dilraj Singh (29′, 32′, 58′) scoring a hat-trick of goals, while Anmol Ekka (29′), Ajeet Yadav (34′, 58′) 47′), Gurjot Singh (39′, 45′) Ingalemba Thounaojam Luwang (43′, 50′), Sarda Nand Tiwari (55′) contributed to India’s score. This win puts India at the top of the points table, 24 goals ahead of Switzerland.
However, the opening quarter was quite a contrast, with Oman doing well in defense despite being down 4 earlye minute goal. It was Arshdeep Singh who opened the scorecard for India with a fine field goal, but the next few minutes did not go as planned for India. Oman managed to slow down India’s attacking pace and failed to come up with any real opportunity to extend their lead.
But after the two-minute break, India came back with new ammunition in their attack and within three minutes of the second quarter they scored their second goal through Manmeet Singh. This young forward was a joy to watch as he created several chances for India this quarter.
As many as three goals were scored in this quarter, building the momentum for India’s high-scoring match. Manmeet scored again in the 26e minute, while Anmol and Dilraj joined the party with 29 of theme A one-minute goal that increased India’s lead to a brilliant 5-0 by the end of the first half.
India had absolute power going into the third quarter and also overcame the early battle to switch from PCs. In the third quarter they scored four more goals in the space of five minutes, with Manmeet completing his well-deserved hat-trick. Dilraj and Arshdeep continued their goal-fest, scoring two apiece.
Three more goals were scored in the quarter, putting significant pressure on Oman and their defense remained hapless under the barrage of attacks from the Indian attacking line.
Leading 12-0, the final quarter was just a formality as India scored five more goals in this quarter. Unfortunately for Oman, who started positively, the momentum in defense could not be sustained. Although they earned a PC, nothing came of it. While the Indian goalkeepers once again came out with flying colors and once again kept a clean sheet.
