Late attack seals Open Pace for in-form Blazing Home N

Blazing Home N (Rock N Roll Heaven) fired up the group during Saturday’s race at the Saratoga Casino Hotel. Larry Stalbaum owns and trains the seven-year-old who won the Open Pace last week (February 7), racing home and scoring in 1:54.4.

On Saturday’s episode of the $16,500 feature, Stalbaum piloted Blazing Home N and was pleased with coming away last in the seven-horse Open in a race with first-half splits of 27.1 and 56.1. The 7-5 betting favorite advanced methodically in the third quarter and after the leader began to tire, Blazing Home N made its move and proved true to its name at the end of the stretch before winning in 1:54.1.

Vanderbilt N (Ron Cushing) was in the pocket behind the tiring leader before shaking free late to take second, while Rebellious (Chris Long) closed to finish third.

Blazing Home N, a six-figure earner in 2025, already has four wins this season after posting a pair of wins at the Northfield Open in January and then upping his scores with back-to-back jacks in the local Open.
