Largest field ever for the fourth leg of Hero WPGT at Poona Club

The largest ever field at a Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour event will assemble this week for the fourth leg at the Poona Club Golf Course from Tuesday.

Despite a few late withdrawals, the field will be just one of 50 and include 43 professionals and six amateurs, the WGAI said.

The tournament prize pool of Rs. 17 lakh will contribute towards determining the early ranking of the Hero Order of Merit.

Last week’s winner Tvesa Malik, who defeated Anvitha Narender in the play-off, leads the field and other contenders include Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall, Sneha Singh and Ridhima Dilawari.

The large group on the first day consists of Tvesa, Ridhima and Vani, who promise to determine the tenor for the week.

The Poona Club Golf Course is a regular venue on the Hero WPGT schedule and this is the second week in a row that it has been in Pune.

The top three on the Hero Order of Merit after the first wave of events in the Tour are Ridhima Dilawari, Vani Kapoor and Jasmine Shekar.
