Happy Labor Day, everyone! After the barbecues and shopping on Vakantiewerkoop, it is time to lean back with some tennis fashion pleasure. Or, if not nice – after all, they are the men – at least fashion frivolity.
I take my work as a self-proclaimed fashion arbitrator pretty serious, so last Tuesday I traveled to Flushing Meadows to inspect this year’s Getups, bring my trusted assistant/sidekick/brother David with them. I would not say that David follows the sport too closely (example: “They no longer use line jury members?”) But he buys and wears clothing, which seems to be the only real job requirement for these face-offs. I thought he would be a Fount of Mode -Savvy, especially with regard to men’s clothing.
His first contribution? Alexander Zverev keep nominees outside the slate:
Non-Nominee: Alexander Zverev

Zverev is a handsome man who can sometimes cloud my judgment, but my brother was not close. “It’s all the same color,” he noticed. “It’s like he didn’t think about it at all.” It is simply that kind of insightful comment that makes the costs of his ticket money well spent.
Instead, David stopped for the opponent of Zverev …
Nominated #1: Alejandro Tabilo

“Now that is a real outfit,” said David, who points useful. He then resumed scrolling on his phone.
It would be difficult to improve that gold clog, but because of the number of words I will add that Tabilo is Chilean and the clothing brand is Lotto. I do like the spicy contrast between the navy shorts and the beige and the white top, and the stripes help break things that think about it, just a long -term way to say that it is not all the same color.
Unfortunately we have to leave my brother here, because these are the only two men outfits he saw. Coordinate to the best dressed Woman Post of this Friday for more insights from David ™.
Nominated #2: Jenson Brooksby

Could there be a more clubby name than Jenson Brooksby? Or a more clubby outfit? By the way, is the word ‘clubby’ not just an incredible clubby and grater?
But apart from whiffs of elitarianism, this outfit from Uomo Sport stands out with its classic styling and customized fit. The light pink keeps the American fresh and cool – so cool, even that I couldn’t see any sweat on the shirt, even deep in the fifth set. What else do you want in athletic clothing?
Nominated #3: Gabriel Diallo

Some of my tennis friends have the “Brown Blob” clothing of Y -3 denying, petition, I think, to have included it in our coming worst post. I will admit that the Freeform spot looks like something that you want the dermatologist to control it. (Let’s look: ASymmetry, irregular BOrders, COlor Variation, Diameter larger than a pencil gum … does not look good.) And yes, the label, a collaboration between Adidas and the Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, may have selected more traditional female colors for the women’s dresses.
But although I didn’t like the women’s line, on the men’s kit – and in particular on this Man’s Kit – The Brown Blob works. Combining with dark shorts and its funky painted ‘Do, Diallo, a relatively unknown Canadian player, rocks the blob positively.
It’s time to vote and let me know in the reactions: should I have nominated Zverev ???
