The Los Angeles Dodgers are already getting effective documents back from the injured list Prior to the last part of the regular season, the most recent, Reliever Michael Kopech and Infielder Hyenseong Kim, but right-wing hand Kyle Hurt is at the end of his recovery from Tommy John and can be an immediate acquisition for the defending champion.
The 27-year-old Hurt has an ERA of 1.04 over 8.2 innings at the MLB level since 2023, but had a 3.07 ERA during his 13 outings in Triple-A last season before he underwent Tommy John.

Hurt threw a live batting training on Saturday when he finally returned to the hill at the Dodger Stadium and would come to Triple-A again later this week for his rehabilitation assignment.
“It’s really exciting. It has been a very long 13 months, and I am just very happy to do what I did again,” Hurt said.
The product of the University of South California spoke about his long rehabilitation, especially when it seemed as if he just started finding his foot in 2024.
“There are many low points,” Hurt said. “Just every day, you go to the facility and you just have to grind and go back to where you were. It will not feel great every day, so you just have to continue.”
Although there were many fellow throwers on the IL this season, it was something that seemed to help the right-handed while he was working to return to the hill, referring to the support he received from Emmet Sheehan, BruSdar Graterol, Gavin Stone, Michael Grove and River Ryan.
“It is great to have other boys in the area. (Gavin Stone) Stoney, (Emmet) Sheehan was a little bit, (Michael Grove) Grover, BruSdar (Graterol), River (Ryan). It’s great to be there with those guys who can push each other and then they are just very enthusiastic.”
The early promise he has shown, in combination with both his excitement to return to MLB and the need for more depth in the pitching department can very well spell some meaningful innings for pain.
