Krishnappa Gowtham announces retirement from all formats of cricket
Former India all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham has officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The 37-year-old made the announcement on Monday, December 22, at a special press conference at the KSCA Media Lounge in Bengaluru. So let’s know that Krishnappa Gowtham announces his retirement.

Short international career
Gowtham represented India in one ODI, which came against Sri Lanka on July 23, 2021. In that performance, he took his only international wicket, dismissing Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Minod Bhanuka. Although his time in the Indian jersey was short, he remained a consistent performer in domestic and franchise cricket.
Record-breaking IPL journey
One of the biggest highlights of Gowtham’s career came during the IPL 2021 auction, where he became the most expensive uncapped Indian player at the time. Chennai Super Kings secured his services for INR 9.25 crore, a record that was later surpassed in subsequent seasons.
Over the years, Gowtham played for several IPL franchises including:

- Rajasthan Royals
- Punjab kings

- Lucknow supergiants

One of Gowtham’s most memorable performances came in the 2019 Karnataka Premier League (KPL) when he played for Bellary Tuskers. He hit a sensational 134 off just 56 balls, including a century off 39 balls, and followed this up with an incredible bowling spell of 8 wickets for 15 runs in the same match.
