The lead-up to the NBA trade deadline continued its frenzied pace on Wednesday night.
The Hawks acquired Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield from the Warriors in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported.
The move puts an end to speculation about the future of Kuminga, who demanded a trade from the team in January.
General manager Mike Dunleavy said in the days after the requirement became public that there had to be a “demand” for something to happen.
“I think we are aware of that when it comes to demand. If you ask a demand, there has to be a demand in the marketplace,” Dunleavy said.
“So we’ll see where that unfolds. But I always hear from these guys that I’m willing to work with them and want to help people, whether that’s JK or another player on our roster. We’re good at, if that’s his wishes, to figure that out, but we have to do what’s best for our organization and that’s what we’ll do as far as the deadline that’s coming up.”

That demand came in the form of the Hawks, who are 25-27 and ninth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Atlanta already made a blockbuster move when they sent Trae Young to the Wizards for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert on January 7.
The Warriors traded Trayce Jackson-Davis to the Raptors for a second-round pick in 2026 shortly after shipping the two players to the Hawks, Charania reported.
