The six year old daughter of Full countowned and trained by Chris Easterday, Jr., defeated the pocket-sized Fox Valley Nautica, with Larry Ferrari driving the lines, by three parts of a length in 1:59.3.
VROOM N VONNIE REPEAT
Kandy Sweet, with Justin Van Otterloo in the sulky, finished three lengths further back in the show spot, while Shady Maple Alstar, looking out in every step of his mile (and a sixteenth) was still a game in fourth. Creemore took the nickel or Eric Miller.
As the wings folded, no fewer than five trotters were hot off those wings, but Kramp used his inside post to perfection to send Vroom and Vonnie through from his inside post to take control of the festivities, with only Shady Maple Alstar firing ahead from his outside eighth post to move into second place in the opener in :29.2 with Fox Valley Nautica neatly in the garden spot.
Halfway: 59.4 and around turn two, Vroom N Vonnie and Fox Valley Nautica were one-two when Shady Maple Alstar began to feel the extra distance taking its toll as it was hung out to dry like wet laundry.
Just past the third station in 1:29.3, Fox Valley Nautica left the snug pocket in search of the leading Vroom N Vonnie, but could only get within half a length in the lane and had to settle for that spot as Vroom N Vonnie reached the line first by three parts of a length.
In an interview after the race, Kramp said: “Vroom (n Vonnie) has raced very well in recent weeks, but the luck of the draw was not on her side.
“The only inside post she got in recent weeks was from the second rank nine, where she finished second.
“I was thrilled when she signed the inside this time a few days ago and felt confident that she could go all the way through.
“I wasn’t going to let anyone pass once I got to the track and the fractions for her were very comfortable.”
For Vroom N Vonnie, the win sent her 2025 scorecard to 4-4-3 in 28 starts, with her season earnings reaching $26,945 and a lifetime mark of $120,812, along with her lifetime mark of 1:55.1 achieved at Scot Downs in mid-August.
As the favorite of 3 vs. 2 tote boards, Vroom N paid Vonnie $5.00 to her many faithful.
