On Thursday, November 13, the Seattle Kraken prepare to host the Winnipeg Jets for their second game of the 2025-2026 season. On October 23, the two teams faced off at the Canada Life Centre, and the Kraken recorded their first shutout of the season with a 3–0 victory. Seattle will look to recreate this, especially after falling 2-1 in a shootout to the Columbus Blue Jackets in their last game on November 11.

Meanwhile, the Jets are already in the win column after their last game. They defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-3, also on November 11. This game is the penultimate of their six-game road trip. After losing their first three, the Jets will look to maintain their winning momentum.
Kraken storylines
Before the game on November 11, Frederick Gaudreau was present spotted on the ice in a red contactless jersey. He was also seen during training on November 12, still wearing the red jersey. He’s been on injured reserve (IR) since October 18 and was expected to be out 4-6 weeks. Saturday marks five weeks since he was placed on IR. While a non-contact jersey doesn’t give any indication that he will immediately return to the Kraken lineup, his return to the ice and practice is a great sign.
Guiding Gaudreau on the ice was Joey Daccord. The goalkeeper was posted on IR on November 8 and was expected to miss the next three games. While he won’t be able to defend the crease during the homestand, Daccord’s return to the ice is also a good sign of his recovery.
In the meantime, Philipp Grubauer and Matt Murray are doing a great job holding down the fort. Grubauer was in net on Saturday as the Kraken defeated the Nashville Predators. Although Murray’s two matches both resulted in defeat, there is no denying that he played exceptionally well. While Seattle is currently missing their starting goaltender in Daccord, they at least have two backup goaltenders to keep the team afloat.
The player to watch in this game is Ryan Winterton. He performed incredibly on Tuesday, scoring the only goal of the match. After scoring his first NHL goal just three games earlier, this goal was another huge personal victory for him. Let’s hope he can continue his strong performance against the Jets and maybe even record another point to add to his total.
