The Kerala Maritime Board (KMB) requires proposals for the development of three properties under IT on Kozhikode Beach of interested companies. On Wednesday (September 17, 2025) a pre-bid meeting was organized in the Guid Guest House in Kozhikode to discuss ideas related to the bid process.
The first project is for the development of a multimodal transitwerf on North Beach, which will have Smark parking facilities in addition to facilities such as e-ticketing, security, monitoring, toilet, EV chargers, supplier skiosks, play area for children, gymnasium outside and Gaspers.

The 2.5 hectares of land close to the Vellayil Harbor is to have the facility to park at least 150 cars. The smart parking facility includes automatic tree barriers, RFID readers and digital payment systems, while related signage, fire combat facility, electricity, lighting and shipping (for boat parking) are mandatory. However, the bidders have the right to set up other facilities that are subjected under the controls under CRZ and KMBR.
The second project is to stand up in another 2.5 hectares of land on South Beach, where is a priority for development that maximizes access to natural beauty and at the same time promotes cultural, economic and social liveliness. Projects that fall under tourism and hospitality, recreational marine activities, commercial companies, infrastructure and ports industry are advised in this space.

The third project is for the development of a center of the road in 30 cent land. The KMB proposes to transform this site into an asset for generating income that serves both in the public interest and the urban development goals. The bidders can set up one of the three options, the first are shops, restaurants, food courts, commercial offices or co-working spaces with a minimum development area of 300 m². The second option is an amusement park that can house at least 1,000 users per day and the third is a gas station with at least four fuel dispensers and two charging stations for electric vehicles. The bidders have the right to use remaining land for further constructions, according to the aforementioned checks.
In all three projects, the bidders can design, build and exploit the project for 30 years from the date of allocation of concession, while the period is extended, subject to the approval of the state government. The pre-BID date is September 17, 2025 for the first two projects while it is September 18 for the third. The expiry date is 3, 10 and 6 October respectively.
