Part of the profession of Koenigsegg is the exclusivity. There is no other brand of fun producing vehicles of several millions of dollars that are as many works of art as supercars. For now, the line -up of the Swedish car maker remains out of reach for most, but that may not always be the case.
Christian von Koenigsegg, in a recent interview with Carbuzzsaid the company is considering making sports cars that are ‘available’. So something much less expensive than the Jesko of $ 3.4 million, for example. Von Koenigsegg said:
“We have the idea to might be absorbed in volume and make more available sports cars.”
Koenigsegg has built its reputation on low volume, high-end hypercars, and this approach has served the company well since founding more than 30 years ago. The company produces a few dozen cars a year, although the company increased its production capacity for the Jesko and Gemera in 2023, tripling its factory print.

But Koenigsegg admitted the publication that a sports car with a large volume “would be a big leap from where we are” and “a different animal” than the production with low volumes that the company is currently doing.
He added: “We think we should do it step by step, not to stumble.”
If the company wants to build sports cars in volume, it needs even more factory space and employees. The company would not only have a higher demand to meet, but it should also be able to compete with comparable options, whatever they may be.
“Available” for Koenigsegg can mean a central to high-six-digit sports car that competes with Ferrari and Lamborghini, instead of Porsche. He did not specify. The tailor -made automaker certainly has the technical bravery and drive lines to create something very special.
Without Koenigsegg that requires resources to a fully electric hypercar that nobody wants, it might deliver something for the mass millionaires that have missed the more exclusive hypercars of the brand. Then the rest of us will be able to offer on the few who end up Copart.com.
