Manchester United have softened their position on midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

After struggling for minutes under Ruben Amorim early in the season, Mainoo requested to leave his boyhood club on loan. Yet United refused to entertain offers for their highly-rated midfielder.

Mainoo, currently sidelined due to injury, is still waiting for his first Premier League start. It is believed that at least twelve clubs are monitoring the Englishman’s situation at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid refuses to accept Manchester United’s demands for Mainoo

According to Central DefenseKobbie Mainoo wants to leave United “as soon as possible” because he wants to fight for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.

It is claimed that Mainoo prefers to leave the Red Devils for a move to Real Madrid. The 20-year-old reportedly dreams of playing for the record Champions League winners.

United have “partially agreed” to let their youth product leave in January, but only on loan with a purchase obligation at the end of the season. It was previously reported that United value the England international at €90 million.

These conditions are “completely unacceptable” for Real, who are not opposed to signing him on an immediate loan.

With Real seemingly out of the picture, Napoli have emerged as the favorites to land Mainoo, the Spanish outlet claims.

Real Madrid and Man United are competing for Neves

Real are also tracking Al-Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves in their bid to strengthen Xabi Alonso’s squad.

However, they face competition from United for the services of the Portuguese.

The ex-Wolves midfielder is aiming for a return to Europe and is strongly linked with both clubs.

Recently, The Peoples Person published a report claiming that Al-Hilal would be willing to consider bids in the region of €10 million for Neves, who has entered the final six months of his contract in Saudi Arabia.
