Knicks stars give part of NBA Cup prize money to team employees: Some ‘people don’t get bonuses’

Josh Hart and some of his well-compensated teammates spread their NBA Cup love.

The veteran guard confirmed to The Post on Sunday that he, Jalen Brunson and others among the highest-paid players are skimming NBA Cup prize money to reward Knicks support staff.

Each Knicks player won more than $500,000 for capturing the NBA Cup.

“I don’t think it was a hard decision,” Hart said before the Knicks toppled the Heat 132-125. “Some of those people don’t get a bonus and they work to make sure we’re at the top of the game no matter who they are. We want to make sure those people are also compensated for their extra time and their efforts.”

Hart named the massage therapists and PR staff as recipients of the unexpected NBA Cup bonus: “We are putting that list together now.”

Karl-Anthony Towns ($53 million salary), OG Anunoby ($39.6 million), Brunson ($34.9 million), Mikal Bridges ($24.9 million) and Hart ($19.5 million) own the Knicks’ top five salaries.

“It’s something we talked about before (giving NBA Cup prize money to support staffers). I and [Brunson] We talked about it at one point,” Hart said. “And we were like, ‘Yeah, we’ll figure it out.’ Like I said, we want to make sure we take care of everyone.”

Towns scored just two points in 29 minutes on Sunday, marking just the second time in his career — and the first since 2017 — that he scored fewer than six in a game.

Still, the Knicks won behind a season-high 47 points from the other All-Star – Brunson – who posted his career-best at MSG.

“Obviously it’s a luxury if you can win a game,” said Towns, who shot just one of five. “This is great to be able to win a game like this. I think the great thing about our team is that we showed you all that we can win in so many different ways. I think that’s going to prove good for us when we’re in the playoffs and we’re in those regular season games where we don’t know how we’re going to win, but we will.” Make sure things work out for us in the end.”
