The New York Knicks filled their selection for the preseason with a series of movements. The Knicks signed five veterans and one rookie for non-godaded, training camp contracts, in addition to filling in all three two-way places.
New York signed veteran protectors Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet, as well as Veteraincentrum Alex Len, to show 9 contracts. An exhibition 9 contract is a non-goded deal that does not count for the cap, tax or aprons unless the player makes the opening night schedule.
Veteran -striker Matt Ryan and veteran Wing Garrison Mathews signed Exhibit 10 Deals. A deal from Exhibit 10 works as a contract from Exhibit 9, but has an extra function to pay the player an agreed amount if they spend 60 days with the G League team of the organization.
Rookie -striker Mohamed Diawara also signed a deal of Exhibit 10. New York also signed Dink Pate and Bryson Warren to show 10 contracts, but later removed it. Those movements were set up to get Pate and Warren to the Westchester Knicks of the G League.
To complete their busy signing period, the Knicks Tosan Evbuomwan and Trey Jemison III signed, and Kevin McCullar signed again on two -way contracts.
New York now has a complete schedule outside the season of 21 players. The Knicks only have 12 players on standard contracts, which means that they ultimately have to get 14 players for standard deals. Because of their hard cap in second place, New York is limited in how they can fill those two places. This means that there can be more grid movements to create extra flexibility.
