According to NBA insider Michael Scotto, the New York Knicks signed Dillon Jones to a two-way deal on Tuesday, January 20. Jones, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 G League Draft, will split time between the Knicks and their G League affiliate.
Jones was originally the 26th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, although his rights were immediately traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He played in 54 games for Oklahoma City during the 2024-25 season, contributing 2.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
During the Thunder’s 2025 championship run, Jones played 10 playoff games, averaging 2.3 points and shooting 75% from three in limited minutes. He also played for Oklahoma City Blue in the G League.
After being traded back to Washington in June 2025, Jones was waived before the start of the season and later selected first overall by the South Bay Lakers in the 2025 G League Draft. He was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers affiliate the Rip City Remix, where he averaged 16.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 8.2 assists in 14 games.
The Knicks, currently third in the Eastern Conference with a 25-18 record, add Jones to a guard-heavy rotation led by Jalen Brunson, who is averaging 28.1 points and 6.1 assists.
