Khabib Nurmagomedov believes US promotions are afraid of white fighters taking power. Nurmagomedov recently called out promotions for cutting fighters with solid records who don’t like trash talk. While Nurmagomedov understands the need for entertainment, he believes that winning should be the priority. With fighters from the Caucasus Mountains taking over major promotions, Nurmagomedov believes American promotions have just chosen not to sign them.

This is Sports

“I feel very sorry for the American promotions because so many hungry fighters come and they don’t like to talk nonsense,” Nurmagomedov said. said at the World Sports Summit. “They just come and beat people up and take money, and American promotions don’t like this; they like nonsense, they like entertainment. I understand that it’s business in a way, but at the end of the day this is sport. Go into the cage alone and we’ll see who is the best in the world.””… Right now I see some promotions following the politics and just not signing them because they are tired. All the Magomedovs, Nurmagomedovs jump to the UFC and take over. In the last few years they have changed the politics and I don’t like that. This is sports after all and it has to be fair. In the last few years they have cut so many fighters who did not lose in the UFC. They just finished their contract and did not give them a new one. Someone needs to talk about this, and I think this is not fair is.

Nurmagomedov (29-0) learned English shortly after coming to America, allowing the Dagestani legend to sell himself. Nurmagomedov’s successor, Islam Makhachev, has also followed in his footsteps and is encouraging fellow Dagestanis to learn English to boost their careers.

However, not everyone is a blessed trash talker like Nurmagomedov or Makhachev. Rinat Fakhretdinov recently made headlines after his UFC contract was not renewed. Despite being undefeated in the UFC, Fakhretdinov (24-1) had his contract not renewed following a first-round knockout win over Andreas Gustafsson last September.
