Kevin Keegan was diagnosed with cancer

Shocking news now that Kevin Keegan has been diagnosed with cancer.

An official statement from Newcastle United revealing the news on Wednesday evening.

Announcing the devastating news, the statement read: ‘Kevin Keegan was recently admitted to hospital for further evaluation of persistent abdominal complaints. This investigation has shown that there is cancer, for which Kevin will undergo treatment.’

I am truly devastated by this news, as I’m sure so many other Newcastle United fans will be.

King Kev is a true NUFC legend.

As a player he saved us in 1982, what a brilliant few seasons they were, unforgettable.

When he returned as manager in February 1992 to do the same, what a five years it was.

Kevin Keegan even returned again in January 2008, but even he couldn’t save us from Mike Ashley. The way the then owner treated King Kev is perhaps the worst of them all, and that’s saying something.

The official statement further reads: “Kevin is grateful to the medical team for their intervention and continued care. At this difficult time, the family requests privacy and would like to have no further comment.”

Our thoughts are with you, King Kev, always a Newcastle United legend, and we truly hope all the best for you.
