A woman who is known as the “Ketamine Queen” will argue on Wednesday guilty for the sale of Matthew Perry the medicine that killed him.
Jasveen Sangha is planned to change her previous non -culprit plea at a federal court in Los Angeles and would become the fifth and final suspect accused of the death of the overdose of the “friends” star to argue after a deal with officers of justice.
She agreed in a signed statement to argue for five federal charges, including the provision of the ketamine that led to the death of Perry. Her process was planned to start later this month.
In a short statement when the deal was announced on August 18, Sangha’s lawyer Mark Geragos only said: “She takes responsibility for her actions.”
Sangha officers, a 42-year-old Burger from the US and the VK, quoted as a productive drug dealer who was known to its customers as the ‘ketamine Queen’, with the help of the term often in press releases and judicial documents.
Her guilty plea will include one count of maintaining a drug -related building, three counts of distribution of ketamine and one counting of ketamine distribution resulting in death.
Officers of Justice agreed to drop three other counts with regard to the distribution of ketamine and one counting of the distribution of methamphetamine that was not related to the Perry case.
The last plea came a year after federal prosecutors announced that five people had been charged in the death of Perry’s on October 28, 2023 after a major investigation.
If Sangha argues guilty as planned, a judge will plan the conviction for Sangha. She could get up to 45 years in prison. The court is not obliged to follow the conditions of the pleid agreement, but prosecutors said in the document that they will request less than the maximum. None of the co -suspects have been convicted.
Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who plead guilty in July, had been the primary goals of the investigation. Three other defendants – Dr. Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa and Erik Fleming – argue guilty in exchange for their collaboration, including statements that Sangha and Plasencia implies.
Dr. Salvador Plasencia, accused of providing Matthew Perry of Ketamine weeks before the fatal overdose of the actor, argued guilty in the federal court on Wednesday. Camilla Rambaldi reports on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 for the NBC4 news at 5:00 PM.
Perry was found dead in his house in Los Angeles by Iwamasa, his assistant. The medical researcher ruled that Ketamine, usually used as a surgical anesthesia, was the primary cause of death.
Sangha presented a chic lifestyle on Instagram, with photos of himself with the rich and celebrities in cities around the world. Justice officers said that she presented herself privately as a dealer who sold high -quality customers to the same kind.
Perry had used Ketamine through his regular doctor as a legal but off-label, treatment for depression, which is increasingly common. Perry, 54, was looking for more ketamine than his doctor would give him, and his search for more led him to Sangha by his friend who said Fleming Fleming about two weeks before his death, officers of Justice.
Fleming sent Perry’s assistant who said her ketamine was ‘great’ and that she only acts ‘with high -end and celebrities’.
Perry bought large quantities of Ketamine from Sangha, including 25 bottles for $ 6,000 in cash four days before his death, said prosecutors.
On the day of Perry’s death, Sangha told Fleming that they had to remove all the messages they had sent each other.
Sangha is in federal detention for about a year.
Perry struggled with addiction for many years, dating from his time on ‘friends’, when he became one of the biggest stars of his generation as a Chandler Bing. He played with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Leblanc and David Schwimmer from 1994 to 2004 in the Megahit series of NBC.
Jasveen Sangha is accused from spreading ketamine to Perry during the last weeks of the actor’s life. The Eric Leonard of the I-Team reports for the NBC4 news at 6 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
